LCT awarded Funding to help local young unemployed adults.
Just before lockdown LCT were awarded funding by ESF in partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority and WEA as the Grant awarding Body to work with local 16-25 year old unemployed adults.
The Kick Start programme will work in partnership with the local Job Centres and local High Schools to improve young adults with lack of or no qualifications, employability by supporting them with behaviour change workshops whilst also providing a pre-employability programme which will better prepare them to engage fully with work through accessing qualifications and also providing a network of potential employers.
LCT Programmes Director Hannah Forbes commented on the funding
“We are delighted that we have ben awarded funding for our Kick Start programme. Since lockdown it has been widely reported that the rates of unemployment for this age group has risen considerably since the COVID-19 pandemic has started, we hope that this programme will go some way to help the local unemployed get back on their feet and give them the tools to go out and find work again”.
